Mr. Ramstad earned his undergraduate degree from the
University of Minnesota in 1982 and his Juris Doctor from
the University of Minnesota law school in 1985. He is a
Real Property Law Specialist certified by the Minnesota
State Bar Association. He concentrates his practice in
the areas of real estate, business organizations, estate
planning, commercial and real estate litigation, probate
and municipal law. He is currently the City Attorney for
Lake Park, Frazee, Audubon, Callaway, and Bejou
Minnesota. A Jaycee Statesman and Distinguished
Service Award winner, he is a former member of the
Detroit Lakes Jaycees. Charlie is also an active member
of the Detroit Lakes noon Rotary club, serving on as the
club’s President in 2002-2003. He has served on the
board of directors for the Lake Agassiz Regional Library
and the Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Very active in the Boy Scout organization, Charlie has
been the Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 647 and an
Assistant Scoutmaster and current Committee Chair of
Boy Scout Troop 674. In his spare time he enjoys nordic
and alpine skiing, camping and backpacking, hunting,
curling and almost any activity with his family. Charlie and
his wife have two teenage children and reside in Detroit
Lakes.
